Teams designing with luw.ai
These are the handy ones. Here is the engine behind them.
250 million designs generated, 3 million designers, and teams from Airbus to Arup working in it every day. The viewers on this page cost nothing and always will — they are ours to give. This is what the same team builds when nobody is limiting it to one file.

DXF is the drawing everyone can read: AutoCAD's interchange format, and the one file a CAD user can send to somebody who does not own CAD. This viewer draws model space on a canvas, lists the layers with their real ACI colours so you can switch any of them off, and measures point to point in drawing units. It runs entirely in your browser, which is the difference between this and the conversion sites that fill the same search results — no upload, no queue, no watermark on the way out.

How to open a DXF file
- Open your DXFDrag the .dxf onto the viewer or click to choose one. It is read by your own browser; nothing is uploaded, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
- Switch layers offEvery layer in the drawing is listed with its real colour. Click one to hide it, or Isolate to see it alone — frozen layers arrive switched off, as the author left them.
- Measure somethingTurn on Measure and click two points. The distance comes back in the drawing's own units, read from the file's $INSUNITS header.
- Save what you seeSave PNG writes the current view, layers and background included, at the resolution on screen.
Questions
Can I open a DWG file here?
No. DWG is Autodesk's closed native format; DXF is the one they publish for exchange. Every CAD tool can save DXF — in AutoCAD it is Save As, and in Revit, ArchiCAD or SketchUp it is an export option. Send yourself the DXF and drop it here.
Why does my drawing open blank?
Two usual causes. Either the entities live in paper space rather than model space, which is what this viewer draws, or the file is a 3D DXF whose geometry is all at one Z. The statistics row tells you how many entities were read: if it says zero, the file is binary DXF rather than ASCII, and re-saving as ASCII DXF fixes it.
Is the text and are the dimensions shown?
Geometry is drawn: lines, polylines, arcs, circles and blocks. TEXT, MTEXT, dimensions and hatch fills are counted but not rendered, and the viewer says how many it skipped rather than pretending the drawing is complete.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. It is read and rendered by your own browser and never leaves your machine. You can disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and the viewer still works.
Free today, free next year. Take it with you.
No account, no watermark, no upgrade prompt hiding in it — this viewer is finished and it is yours. When the work gets bigger than one file, the same engine turns a photo into a floor plan and a sketch into a render, and 3 million designers already work that way.
